【Grammar-vol.55】Polite Japanese make you look cool!!

こんにちは!

ユーキです!!(*゚∀゚*)

Today, I got request to write about how to make polite sentence!!

Thank you very much for the request m(___)m 👈Polite point!!xD

But if you follow N1 level text book, it is too formal and hard for the beginner so let’s make simple and polite Japanese!!( ・∇・)

Shall we go?♪

Today's Topic
How to make polite sentence
①です
This is useful polite form!!
You can use this like “noun+です” or “adjective+です”
You can use even business situation so this is very important and useful!!
And です is always end of sentence!

②ます
This is also very useful polite form!!
You can use this like “verb + ます” but little need change the form of verb so let’s check carefully!!
And ます is also always end of sentence.

Example.1
ユーキ社長!こちらがイタリア産の赤ワインです。(*゚∀゚*)
Yuki-shachou, kochira ga Italiasan no akawain desu
Yuki president, this is red wine made in Italy.

社長(しゃちょう)
president
イタリア産(いたりあさん)
made in italy
こちら
this (polite way of saying これ)

赤ワイン(red wine) is noun, so if you want to make the sentence polite,
you can say,”赤ワイン+です”。
You can use this form for conversation too!!

Example.2
このT-シャツすごい可愛いです!
Kono t-shatsu sugoi kawaii desu
This T-shirt is very cute!

可愛い(かわいい)
cute(adj)

“Adj+です” is also polite!( ・∇・)
If you put “ね” on the end of the sentence like  “可愛いですね!”, that sounds more natural when you talk to someone. “ね” means similar to “right?” or “isn’t it?”

Example.3
明日から毎日日本語を勉強します!
ashita kara mainichi Nihongo wo benkyou shimasu
I will study Japanese everyday from tomorrow.

勉強する is “suru-verb” so when you want to make it “ますform” ,する become します.

If you have not studied “verb form” let’s watch my YouTube and check the following !!
